Fine Wine Auction

Action Against Hunger’s second Fine Wine Auction and Dinner will be held on Saturday 8th March 2008, at 1 Lombard Street, the City of London’s most beautiful Brasserie.

Michelin-starred chefs Raymond Blanc (Le Manoir), Shane Osborn (Pied-à-Terre), John Campbell (The Vineyard) and Herbert Berger (1 Lombard Street) will be delighting your palates with an exquisite dinner.

Tim Atkin and David Elswood, International Head of Wine at Christie’s, will conduct the auction in which rare, collectable, prestigious (and, naturally, eminently drinkable) vintages will go under the hammer.

In addition, we have the support of some of the most prominent sommeliers & wine experts including, Henri Chapon MS (Director of Wines, Hotel du Vin), Joelle Marti (Marketing Manager UK, Champagne Henriot) and Master of Wine, Peter McCombie, all of whom are asking the most influential players in the wine and restaurant industry to donate prestigious auction lots for the event.

Tickets are £160 and every penny raised will go to Action Against Hunger. Tables of 8, 10 & 12 are available.

For further information or to purchase tickets, please contact Heidi Drummond on 020 8293 6133 or email h.drummond@aahuk.org

Too Many Critics...

The tables turn on critics from the country’s main newspapers as they take up the challenge to become chefs for the night. Their culinary talents will be judged by a room full of chefs and restaurateurs from leading restaurants who have the rare opportunity to get their own back on the critics.

What is more, their culinary labours are exposed on large TV screens around the restaurant, so that the guests have the opportunity of commenting – favourably or otherwise – on the food on their plates.
