Action Against Hunger has a wide variety of running events that you can take part in throughout the year. From the absolute beginner, who is looking to set themselves a goal, to an experienced extreme runner looking for the ultimate challenge, we will find the race to suit you!

5k Races

Looking for your first race, or maybe you want to run a faster short race, or maybe just join in and have some fun! A 5k race has something to offer everyone!

 

5K Cardiff - St Davids Day

1st March 2009

The annual St David’s Day Run takes place in Bute Park, Cardiff. This event has become renowned for the diversity of entrants enjoying the occasion, from club runners who complete the 5 km course in about a quarter of an hour, to babies who complete the course (with the assistance of their pushchair) in over an hour, having paused along the way to enjoy the scenery!

Adidas Women’s 5K Challenge

The adidas Women’s 5K Challenge is a fun run for women of all ages taking place three great cities across the country, London, Birmingham and Liverpool. A real feel good event, join our Action Against Hunger girls and take your marks!

5k Santa Run

TBC December 2009

The ultimate fun run – if you missed out last year, register your interest now!

Over 1,000 Santa’s are expected to take up the 5k challenge in beautiful Greenwich Park, London. You can really get into the Christmas spirit at this race as all runners are supplied with a full costume on registration!

10k Races

Bupa London 10,000

25th May 2009

Action Against Hunger has guaranteed places for the The Bupa London 10,000. This inspiring race uses the 2012 olympic marathon route. Starting on Birdcage Walk and finishing onThe Mall runners could hardly wish for a more inspiring route as they pass many of London’s famous sights, including Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, The London Eye, Millennium Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral and Buckingham Palace to name but a few!

Bupa Great 10k Race Series

The ASICS Fleet Pre-London Half Marathon has been running since 1982, since then thousands of runners have taken part and the race has become the highlight of the year's sporting calendar in Fleet and the surrounding area.

The world's biggest half marathon, the Bupa Great North Run, celebrates its 29th anniversary in 2009 and is a point-to-point course that starts in Newcastle and finishes in South Shields.

Sony Ericsson’s Run to the Beat

This is the second year of the very successful Greenwich based Run to the Beat London half marathon. Thousands of eager runners will take to a course specifically designed to help keep runners motivated with 16 stations of live music along the route. The course starts and finishes at the O2 Arena and takes the runners all the way around Greenwich, Run to the Beat is sure to be a great event for both runners and music lovers!

The Bupa Great South Run takes place in Portsmouth and is Britain's leading 10-mile running event. A fast, flat route in Southsea, Portsmouth is the ideal course to record a personal best and is regarded as one of the most popular road races in the United Kingdom.

Flora London Marathon

Action Agianst Hunger have guaranteed places for the world famous Flora London Marathon. The support of the crowds, fantastic atmosphere, at this epic marathon ensure that it is one not to be missed!

Edinburgh Marathon 2009

The Edinburgh Marathon offers runners the ultimate personal challenge with a spectacularly scenic route, starting on Princes Street in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle following a route which takes runners past many of Edinburgh's famous landmarks and tourist attractions.

Robin Hood Marathon

The Robin Hood Marathon has been going for over 26 years and takes you past the historical sites of Nottingham, starting and finishing at Victoria Embankment.

The Adidas Dublin City Marathon is an increasingly popular event and a great opportunity to take part in a race in one of Europe's finest cities whilst of course experiencing some true Irish hospitality!

Have you already registered in a ballot race, but would like to join the Action Against Hunger team? Maybe you have a local run that you would like to take part in instead?

You can support Action Against Hunger through applying for your own place in one of hundreds of sporting events across the country.
