Small Steps make a Big Difference
Hundreds of London School Children Unite in a Run Against Hunger
Every year, six million children under five years old die from hunger and malnutrition-related diseases. Showing solidarity in the fight against hunger, thousands of pupils from schools across the UK, along with their teachers, parents and relatives, will take part in the annual International Run Against Hunger.
This year, pupils participating in the UK aim to top the £53,000 raised during last year’s run. All money raised will go to support Action Against Hunger which provides life-saving programmes and
treatment for children suffering from hunger and malnutrition.
Pauline Llorca, Run Against Hunger Coordinator, comments: “The Run Against Hunger is a unique opportunity for young people to take part in a fun event whilst making a difference to the lives of children living in other parts of the world.”
In its 10th year, the Run Against Hunger has expanded and become a successful international event involving more than 80,000 children worldwide. This year, the International Run Against Hunger will take place in many cities including Paris, Tunis, Warsaw, Addis Ababa, Berlin, Madrid as well as London.

(Bonne Maman)

It is a great pleasure for Pauleys to support this year’s UK Run Against Hunger. We are thrilled to be supplying the fruit for the events. The Run is a truly worthwhile endeavour as it both educates children about the reality of hunger in the world and the ways by which it can be combated as well as enabling these same children to show their solidarity for the cause by raising funds for Action Against Hunger’s lifesaving programmes. (Pauleys)
