Rugby Against Hunger – U17’s  Anglo French Tournament

For an all action, international event that showcases the rugby stars of the future, humanitarian charity Action Against Hunger present Rugby Against Hunger – the first international under 17’s tournament to be held at the prestigious Twickenham Stoop Stadium, home of the world famous Harlequins RFC. Entry is completely free and rugby fans, old and new, can show their support from the sidelines, as the international battle between France’s finest and the best of British sporting talent unfolds.      

Fun for all the family, this unique event on 1st July will have you on the edge of your seats. Cheer the champions of tomorrow while supporting a truly worthwhile cause. Watch up-and-coming, home-based talent from teams including Harlequins, London WASPS, Saracens, London-Irish, Leicester Tigers and from France - Toulouse, Stade Francais and Perpignan in a round robin of ‘rucking good fun’!

For those that don’t know the difference between their forwards and their fullbacks, there will be plenty of off-pitch entertainment including inflatables, games, raffles, meet the mascots and prizes to win. Action Against Hunger are offering everyone at the event the chance to win a six night Cyprus Golf Getaway stay for six people in a luxury villa at the prestigious Intercontinental Aphrodite Hills Golf Resort in Cyprus. The winner can whisk 5 friends away on a holiday of a lifetime, where days are preoccupied with swimming, dining, golf, tennis or a leisurely visit to the spa. To enter, simply fill in the competition form on the day.

Get down to the grounds early where the first matches kick off at 11am. Take the opportunity to meet and mingle with the great names from rugby, past and present. The games continue throughout the afternoon, culminating in a champagne reception at 5pm in the Legends Suite and Lexus Stand for VIP’s and invited guests. The grand final will follow at 5:20 pm. with the presentation ceremonies taking place at 6pm. Revel in the joys of rugby with the knowledge that you have joined forces to help fight the global horrors of famine and disease.

Whilst entry is free, all funds raised from the raffle, food, activities and drinks sales will go directly to Action Against Hunger. For over 25 years Action Against Hunger, an international, non-governmental, non-religious organisation, has provided assistance to people suffering from hunger and malnutrition.
