Action Against Hunger pursues a vision of a world without hunger, saving the lives of malnourished children and families. We provide relief, recovery, and rehabilitation services to more than 5 million people a year, specializing in emergency situations of war, conflict, and natural disaster. We work with communities in more than 40 countries to develop strategies to restore dignity and self-sufficiency for the long-term.

Action Against Hunger is continuously recruiting professional and experienced staff that are personally committed to working towards our aim of ensuring that people/communities around the world have access to enough food and clean water.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Candidates are required to have a degree and professional experience in their field.
  • Overseas work experience or extensive travel is recommended.
  • A one-year minimum contract is required.
  • Experience with a non-governmental organisation is desired.
  • Working knowledge of English and preferably another language such as French or Spanish is preferred

  • Motivation: Individuals who are committed to humanitarian ideals. Energetic people who are capable of handling stressful work environments, long hours, and can integrate into their local environment and respect indigenous cultures.
  • Adaptability: Flexible individuals who can quickly adapt to living and working with a team and who can act as team players. Can work within the fluid and constantly changing environment of the field.
  • Initiative: Can take leadership roles and work autonomously. Able to be self-sufficient and handle problems as they arise.
  • Professionalism: Must be able to work with a team and local staff in a professional and mature manner. Volunteers must represent Action Against Hunger positively at all times in dealing with local authorities.

 

Action Against Hunger recruits both technical and non-technical staff to run our programs.

Action Against Hunger also recruits external consultants to carry out evaluations of our programmes to ensure the continued success and to capitalize on experiences gained within the network as a whole. These positions are advertised on the ACF-UK website when they are available
