Local Voices: A Community Perspective on HIV and Hunger in Zambia

Through the voices of people living with HIV/AIDS, this report explores the social and economic impact that HIV/AIDS has on families affected by the disease and highlights the fact that HIV/AIDS can no longer be seen as solely a medical issue. The stories in this report are poignant chronicles of inventive people adapting to a series of household and personal struggles. Yet, as much as these stories are an illustration of the hardships that the HIV virus causes, they also show the strength and courage of the families living with HIV/AIDS.
